  • When the cost of home is your family’s future, the cost is too high
  • Home shouldn’t cost you your health. Home shouldn’t cost you your kids’ education.
  • Help us make that possible. Help us make the #CostOfHome something we all can afford.
  • Must have 20% or less in debt-to-income monthly ratio.
  • Everyone deserves to build the foundation for a strong, healthy future for themselves and their families
  • No matter where they live or how much money they earn. Every family deserves the chance to thrive.

Due to Discriminatory Policies:

Black households continue to be the most affected by these housing challenges:

  • In the second quarter of 2021, the Census Bureau reported that Black households had the lowest homeownership rate at 44%, nearly 30 percentage points behind white households.
  • In the US, white households have a median wealth of $134,230, while Black households have a median wealth of $11,030.
  • Black homebuyers are 2.4 percent more likely than equally qualified white homebuyers to be denied an in-person appointment.
  • A little over 13% of Black home shoppers were rejected for a mortgage loan [in 2019], in contrast to 4% of Latino buyers and 5% of white shoppers.
  • Homes in majority-Black neighborhoods are undervalued by at least $48,000, compared to similar homes in other areas.
