This just in: do not ever trust Simon Pegg to keep a secret.
According to The Independent, the actor was at a premiere in London when he may have accidentally ruined a cameo in the next Star Wars movie.
When asked if he would be appearing in his pal, J.J. Abrams‘ much-anticipated future installment of the Star Wars franchise, Pegg shot down rumors he would be playing a Stormtrooper.
“I wasn’t a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper.”
Pegg quickly walked back his statement, likely moments after imagining the jedi legal team Abrams and Disney would send after him.
“I shouldn’t have said that.”
It was widely speculated the current James Bond would appear in the movie in some capacity, but virtually no talk about the film connected Craig with playing a Stormtrooper.
Whatever, we think it’s kinda cool and I hardly think that’s ruining any of the dozens of other surprises that will likely appear in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. If anything we’re more excited now.
But… I will say, you would think the guys who worked for IMF and her Majesty’s Secret Service would really do a better job at keeping a secret.
It was nice knowing you, Simon Pegg. May the force be with you.
