Forget for a minute who you would choose if you were building a sports franchise around a single player. Take a moment to think about who you might draft if you were starting a new circle of friends – and you wanted it to be the baddest motherf***ing crew on da block. Who would you select first?
For me, this was an easy decision. I’d take Nick Cannon without a second thought. Here are my Top 5 reasons why:
HE’S A FASHION TRENDSETTER
It doesn’t matter what flashy color, quirky pattern or unusual fabric is part of his outfit. By definition, if Nick is wearing it… it’s cool. There are very few other people who make a new fashion statement every day. If that wasn’t enough, Nick wears his choices with confidence — making them all that more appealing. Stick by him and what you’re wearing automatically becomes chic as well.
DUDE’S GOT TALENT
Most people in show business are lucky to have one gig. Nick’s got one… two… three… Ah hell, let’s just go with A LOT. In addition to hosting America’s Got Talent, creating the series Wild ‘N Out and acting in films like Drumline and Love Don’t Cost a Thing, Nick’s an accomplished stand-up comic. Did we mention that he’s also a rapper, radio personality and entrepreneur? Hang around him and maybe some of his talent will rub off on you.
HE’S GAME FOR ANYTHING
If you watch Nick in action, there’s no way you won’t think that hanging with this guy would be tons of fun. Whether it’s sliding down a stripper pole wearing a bra made of duct tape or pranking the America’s Got Talent judges by pretending to be a mime (see video below), Nick is always the life of the party. His willingness to be self-deprecating only adds to his charm.
HE’S A GREAT DAD
By all accounts, Nick puts his kids first. Period. Just this past week, he was spotted taking them on an Easter egg hunt like every good dad should. You don’t want to hang with people who only care about having fun. Nick is able to find the right balance between enjoying both his social and family life.
HE HAS MULTI-CULTURAL APPEAL
If there was any doubt that Nick is willing to chill with people of all races, they disappeared upon the release of his latest CD, White People Party Music. The name of the album says it all. Go listen to it. Regardless of your ethnic background, we think you’ll agree that it rocks.
