By 2008, Meek had already released his fourth mixtape Flamers 2, which gained the attention of various management companies, including T.I.’s Grand Hustle. There he developed a relationship with DJ Drama and collaborated with Rick Ross, who would later sign Meek to his own Maybach Music Group.

Meek was blowing up the scene by 2011, and by 2012 he released Dreams and Nightmares, which rocketed up the Billboard 200 to number 2. The lead single Amen, features Drake and charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Meek then founded his own record label, Dream Chasers Records, featuring artists like Lee Mazin and hitmaker Goldie.

Meek has been putting together an all-star team for his second studio album, Dreams are Worth More Than Money (after already releasing over 10 mixtapes). The album will reportedly feature drop-ins from Jay-Z, Rita Ora, Rick Ross, Big Sean and many, many more. With huge praise coming from Nas and Drake (who described Meek’s work as ‘One Of The Best Rap Moments Of Our Generation’), and maybe even a possible collaboration with rumored girlfriend Nick Minaj, Meek is set up to release an album people will be talking about for years.
