Making non-stop moves in the entertainment world
Growing up in New Jersey, Alfredo had always wanted to shoot. He spent time at a film school in NYC, but it just wasn’t leading to the kind of opportunities he wanted. So at just 19, he uprooted his life and moved to LA to create his own opportunities.
Persistence pays off
Immediately on getting to LA, Alfredo didn’t head to see the Walk of Fame. He continued taking classes in Santa Monica, but he contacted and wore down entertainment companies until he locked down internships in production and with Interscope.
From Interscope, to Mariah, to Nick Cannon
Through his music video production internship, Alfredo kept pushing for more until he got a meeting with Mariah. He interned with her, and then he met Nick Cannon, who was the Chairman of TeenNick at the time. Alfredo became Nick’s go-to guy for shooting all his content, which included movies for Nickelodeon. All this while Alfredo was still a student.
From Cannon to Bieber
On set with Nick Cannon, a 15-year-old Justin Bieber showed up to film content for Nickelodeon. The camera guy didn’t show up, and Justin’s crew needed someone else. They looked around the room for someone with a camera. Alfredo stepped up. Justin was impressed, to say the least. Alfredo graduated Monday, and by Wednesday he started on tour with Justin. Soon Alfredo directed Pray and Love Me for Justin, and he was an indispensable member of his team.
The world is next
Alfredo shot a good portion of Never Say Never and all of Believe, Justin’s movies. He’s been on the road with Ariana Grande, directing music videos for Jasmine V, and generally killing it. He’s got a lot of talent and ambition, and he told FirstSlice there’s a lot more he wants to do.
